Rex is a 5 year old stately gentleman who loves people and dogs of all sizes. He is  a very social dog and extremely bright. Nothing phases Rex. He had his nails dremelled at the  groomers, had an extensive grooming session with high powered air dryers, went through the  noisy drive- through car wash, little dogs rushed him, kids lay on him and he enjoyed every minute of it.  He likes riding in the car. He displayed  a little too much interest in the  cat we showed him.  He was obviously someone's dog as he knows how to sit, lie down, roll over and  give his paw. He even does a little jig when he gets excited!  He displays a very gentle and calm demeanor. His well rounded energy coupled with his great temperament make him an ideal dog for any home situation without cats.

According to his foster mom:

Rex has been a wonderful house guest.  He has many great qualities.  Even though he is a big boy, he never jumps on anyone or gets too rough.  My very bossy Chihuahua who will sometimes bark and snap at Rex, he just ignores.  Rex is a very good watch dog, but once you let people in, he knows it's okay, and loves meeting visitors.  He does not try to get on furniture, but if you wanted him to, I'm sure he wouldn't mind.  Even though Rex is a little older and very well-behaved, he still has lots of energy and loves his walks every day and plays with his tennis balls and toys.  Rex likes to come inside and hang out but is just as happy being outside.  He goes willingly wherever you need him to without any fuss.  Rex is a great dog all around.
